Logo File Formats.

WHICH FILE FORMAT SHOULD I USE AND WHEN?

Your logo suite will contain numerous versions, saved in various file formats to ensure you have the right file for any print or digital requirements.
It’s probably a bit confusing, not to mention a bit overwhelming, so here is a simplified explanation for you.

FILES FOR PRINT

Icon of a PDF file with a folded corner.
Icon of a document with the label EPS in the center.

High resolution files - suitable for any printed material

Stationery

Flyers/Posters

Signage

Screen printing

Embroidery

Banners

Billboards

THINGS TO NOTE:

You may not be able to open or view the .eps file unless you have the specific software but please don’t dismiss this format.

The .eps and .pdf will be the files a printer, designer, signwriter, screenprinter or embroiderer will need to produce quality products.

FILES FOR DIGITAL

Generic icon representing a JPEG image file, with the text 'JPG' in the center.
Icon of a document with a folded corner and the text 'PNG' in the center.

Low resolution files - suitable for anything viewed on a screen

Websites

Email Signatures

Social Media

Power Point Presentations

Digital Letterheads

Online Invoices

THINGS TO NOTE:

These files are not suitable for enlarging or printing - this will cause them to appear blurry or pixelated.

PNGs may have a transparent background.

JPGs do not have transparency.
